Greenwood joined Getafe in the summerHad been short of match practice due to suspensionBordalas says he must continue learningWHAT HAPPENED?
Getafe managed to sign Greenwood on loan from Manchester United in the summer, after the Red Devils cut ties with the striker. United had investigated Greenwood's conduct after he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and domestic violence, although all charges against him were dropped in February 2023. Due to the investigation, Greenwood had spent months on the sidelines, and Getafe have subsequently waited for him to build up his match fitness.

Bordalas told Marca: "Greenwood is a different player, with a lot of talent but in football, talent is not the main thing. It takes more work than talent. When he is at 100 percent we can check his real level but he has the conditions to play in any major league."
Asked about his lack of game time, the Getafe boss added: "We were confident because of the talent, because of the level he has had. Being able to opt for a player of this level at Getafe is complicated, almost impossible. And well, given the situation, we bet on him. We are happy and content because we have a great player, he is a good boy, he has fitted in really well and he just needs to learn a little more Spanish."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Greenwood has made 15 appearances for Getafe since arriving, scoring five goals and laying on four assists. He has even been linked with a potential move to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid, but is still under contract at United until 2025.
