Although the Red Devils reached their second straight FA Cup final, thanks to a 4-2 penalty shootout win over the Championship side after the game ended in a 3-3 draw on Sunday, they were wholly unconvincing. Now, former Liverpool defender Carragher thinks United's players will have felt "embarrassed" after scraping that victory, particularly as they threw away a 3-0 lead.

He said on Sky Sports: "We were all watching there in the end and (Coventry boss) Mark Robins famously kept a Man Utd manager in a job and I think that result today cost a Man Utd manager his job. I don’t see how he stays. I don’t. I would imagine that dressing room is the most embarrassed dressing room you could remember if a team who won a big game."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
United looked to be progressing under Ten Hag last season after qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Carabao Cup. This term, however, they have next to no chance of finishing in the top four again, there doesn't seem to be much of a strategy or a distinct style of play under the Dutchman, and the 54-year-old is under increasing pressure to keep his job. A defeat to City in the FA Cup final could be the final nail in the coffin for the ex-Ajax boss.
