Tottenham Hotspur suffered a huge blow on Wednesday night as RB Leipzig outclassed them in north London and recorded a thoroughly deserved 1-0 win.

It was a poor team performance from the hosts, who looked toothless in the absence of Son Heung-min, but Giovani Lo Celso emerged with plenty of praise.

Lo Celso was the highest-rated player according to SofaScore as he won eight duels (two aerial and six ground), completed three key passes and four successful dribbles on the night.

Needless to say, that display had many of the fans praising his versatility and skill.

Another claimed that he outshines a certain Dele Alli, while one went as far to suggest that the former Real Betis man will eventually outshine club icon Luka Modric…

But unfortunately for the Lilywhites, his performance wasn’t enough to help his team score on the night.

Many of the fans, though, were eager to acknowledge that the Argentine was very much their only shining light against the Bundesliga outfit.

Finally, there were some fans who were quick to compare him to the player he’s effectively replacing.

Christian Eriksen departed for Inter Milan in the January transfer window and Lo Celso was permanently bought by Spurs, and these fans believe that the young Argentine could eventually eclipse the Dane’s legacy at the club.
